Annual Harvest Harrier 5K Trail
Run is hosted and directed by
the Howard County Department
of Recreation & Parks.
Through programs and events, the
Department of Recreation and Parks
strives to provide activities
that promote a healthy and active
lifestyle. This event supports
the Scholarship program for Recreation
and Parks. The Scholarship Program
provides financial assistance
to needy families or individuals
of Howard County who wish to participate
in Recreation and Parks activities.

THE
COURSE:
The 5K Trail Run starts and
ends on the trails of Rockburn
Branch Park in Elkridge, MD.
The Trail Run begins at the
pavilion on the Montgomery Road
entrance side of the park.
Starting on a grassy trail, the
run leads through single and double
wide wooded tracks, moderate hills,
bridge crossings and ends back
at the pavilion. Great
run for beginners to advanced
runners.

DIRECTIONS
TO THE RACE:
From Route
29 take Route 100 East to first
exit, Long Gate Parkway. Make a right
onto Rt. 103 (Montgomery Road). Follow
beyond Ilchester Road and turn left
at traffic light to remain on Montgomery
Road. Turn left again at the next traffic
light to continue on Montgomery Road.
Travel 3/4 mile to school & Rockburn
Branch Park entrance. Make a left into
the entrance. Go straight through the
park gates (past the school) and follow
signs for 5K parking.
OR
Route 1 to Montgomery
Road West (Exxon on corner). Follow
approximately 2-3 miles to Rockburn
Elementary / Rockburn Park entrance.
Make a right into the park/school entrance.
Go straight through the park gates (past
the school) and follow signs for 5K
parking. |
